Recently the group known as the Great American Crawl, came to Montrose Colorado. It was great to see people come from all over to travel to wheel our local trails. The great American Crawl has a large social media following, so it was great to see Montrose get some time in the spot light. Not only will the Great American Crawl post about the event, but so will all of the over 100 plus vehicles that registered for the event.
How it works? the event organizers ask locals to help guide the trails, and to help people navigate through them. A few of us locals volunteered to help lead the trails. on the first day of the event, they split us into groups of medium, hard, and hardest trails. There are no easy trails in Montrose, unless you count the two track roads leading to the trails. We then explained to people who were interested in the trails, what they can expect.
The Montrose Trails are no Joke, you need to have a seriously capable rig, and some great driving skills to navigate them!

After two days of wheeling the great trails, the event organizers also gave away some awesome prizes in a raffle! If you attend one of these, make sure to stay for the raffle!
After the last day, the event organizers also put on a BBQ for everyone who attended. Remember, attendance is free, and you also get a free T shirt, Free BBQ, and a raffle ticket just for attending, that is a great deal!!

After everyone decided on which trail they wanted to try, they followed each trail leader out to the trail, I was leading Boulder Canyon, the hardest trail in Montrose, a small group of us headed that way.

Boulder Canyon lives up to its name, as it is hard right from the start!

The rocks in here, are huge, and there are lines in here, very few people have run!!

You do not need rear steer to run Boulder Canyon, but it definitely helps!!

Rollovers are a very high probability on this trail! Make sure your recovery gears is up to the task!

After a long day in the sun, we needed to cool down in the shade, with some cold drinks!!

For Day 2 action, check this out!
Overall, we had a great time at this event! Hopefully we can attend another one in the future!
